Mei Mei

When my best friend bought a Balinese kitten nearly 5 years ago, I thought of myself as strictly a "dog person"; cats were simply too aloof to interest me. But, the day after my friend brought her new cat home, she called me up: "I had the worst asthma attack of my life! I need someone to take this cat". That is how I got Mei Mei, and that is how I learned that everything I thought I knew about cats was wrong. Mei Mei will jump up on my lap, loudly and persistently express her opinions, groom her human, then curl up and fall asleep. No dog could be more loving. And, though Mei Mei is terrified of mice, and takes every closed door as a personal affront and challenge (she has escaped into my yard, but, my dog, part collie, herds her back in, and she has, on more than one occasion, found herself trapped in a closet or cabinet), though she is impolite and "talks" through every television show I try to watch, and though she finds grocery bags totally irresistable, Mei Mei manages to charm every human who meets her. Just look into her beautiful, funny, crossed eyes, and you, too, will be in love with Mei Mei.
